Here's a photo of snipers from the 67th Battalion CEF "Western Scots".  There is one Canadian Warner & Swasey scope case visible and maybe a strap on one or two others.  

The absence of other scopes suggests this was 1915 or 16 I believe.

This thread is a goldmine of information. I've thought of building a repro Ross sniper rifle as well, but the cost of the W and S scope is a bit prohibitive. I did manage to pick up a scope case a while back and I thought I would share some pics. It looks the same as the one in the picture of the Western Scots. The serial number for the rifle is 1913 which strikes me as strange. It seems to be too early for a MK III but I could be wrong.

The Mk lll's serial was likely 685/1913 DE.  Do you have any further history on the case?
