Been busy again trying to get reproduction ross parts made.

I sent in one of my 3d files for the MKII 3 Star Nose cap to get 3d metal printed. Received it yesterday and cleaned up the print lines and did a quick cold blue job on it. Image on the left is 3d printed one.

The process of 3d Metal Printing uses 60% stainless steel and 40% Bronze. So it is tough. Used a propane torch on it and didn't distort at all! Way hotter than you would get shooting a bolt action.

I have 3d drawings done on MKII 2 star (Heavy Barrel), MKII 1 Star and Mid bands. These will all be 3d printed. Cost associated with getting stamping dies are prohibitory expensive!

Any questions send me a PM.

Thanks

Lorne

It looks pretty good, or probably about as good as it's going to get with rapid prototyped stuff. If it's done with powder sintering then the 3D model could probably be polished up with some clever fillets to get that formed steel look, or if that's not possible with the method used then adding a bit of extra metal behind the scenes to allow for some post-production filing would achieve the same. It's entirely possible I'm too much of a stickler for detail though.

In any case, looks great!

In addition to the Bands, I can get fore-end and upper wood for any cut down stocks. As long as they have been cut forward of the mid-band and your stock wasn't heavily sanded.

If that is the case, a full repro stock would be needed. Can produce MKII 1*, 2*, 3* and MKIII stocks. Wood is Canadian Black Walnut.

Stocks will be about 95% complete, minor in-letting is required, sanding and opening the rear butt area for trap door. The oil hole is not drilled out.

If you lack wood skills, I can complete the stock for you and you can drop your metal in and go shooting.

PM for details.
