On a semi-related note, I had always wanted to make a Ross scope mount that was shaped like an SVT-40's (Post 29 in the referenced thread) but instead of sliding onto rails, screwed in as a replacement for the rear bridge. Not really quick detach, but I like the idea of scoping such an accurate rifle in a completely reversible way.
